BUG (BBC User Group)

Back in the mists of time I was a big fan, and member, of two BBC user groups which had their on bi-monthly diskzines and as a devout Acorn user I decided to have a go myself.

BUG aka BBC User Group lasted for one year and ran for five issues, each issue was available on ADFS and DFS format disks. Each issue cost roughly 0.50ukp not including postage and packaging. At the end there were over fifty members but time and other commitments, pesky jobs, got in the way and BUG had to be taken out of circulation.

All five released issues are available here, the downloads each contain one complete issue of BUG in .DSD format (DFS disk images) which can be used with most BBC emulators or written to disk to be used on real machines.

BUG All Issues (see above) All released issues.

Please note that these issues contain names, addresses and phone numbers which are wildly out of date and as such request that you do not attempt to contact the old members of BUG. My own postal address and phone number have also changed since the issues were first released.

There are twelve existing issues in total, however the remaining seven are incomplete and are unlikely to ever be released.

If you are wondering, the two user groups were 8-Bit Software (known as 8BS) and Solinet. 8BS is still around today though in a different and wholly more modern form, please visit their web site - if you are a Beeb fan you will not be dissapointed.
